Lisa Allshire is a lifelong professional painter of still life and landscape. A contempory painter of realism, she shines a light on the small moments that catch her imagination. She believes appreciation of the physical environment is important for our understanding of ourselves. Much of her work is painted from life and in plein air.
Recently Lisa has been developing work on irregular shaped canvasses - to reflect the nature of our selective attention. When Lisa lived in Ireland and the United Kingdom she worked on murals and trompe l'oeil, and this experience has informed this latest evolution in her practice.
